Description

The Role

The Software & Services team supports the definition, design, and development of continuously improving mobility services. SDV is a new vehicle intelligence platform that will underpin all our future innovations across a wide range of technological advancements, including EVs and expanded automated driving. This means that you can potentially put a fingerprint on the vehicles that drive down the road! Within the Software Defined Vehicle, GM is developing the next generation of embedded platform software to deliver state of the art Infotainment features on the Ultifi platform. This role requires high level of expertise and capability in software coding, development, issue resolution, debugging and analysis for root cause.

The Test Architect will work directly with our latest vehicle products designing tests and metrics to monitor that mimic real-world vehicle usage to be executed in an automated manner. You will build domain specific test suites with a specific purpose and own a closed loop feedback loop so escaped bugs are prevented.

What You'll Do:

  • Design tests and metrics to monitor that mimic real-world vehicle usage to be executed in an automated manner.
  • Collaborate with other GM organizations to review and improve test strategies.
  • Providing direction and feedback to the Automation Scripters and developers to ensure automated tests meet the original vision
  • Working on physical test properties (vehicles or benches)
  • Participating in testing or customer facing evaluations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering or Computer Science w/ preferred focus in Electrical, Computer Systems, Mechanical, Aero, Computer Science
  • 10 - 15 years experience with automated testing & frameworks
  • 10 - 15 years proven skills in automation script development (Pytest, Robot framework)
  • You have exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus
  • Strong analytical and issue resolution skills
  • Passing score on technical coding assessment

Additional Description

Preferred Qualifications

  • Robot or Cucumber Framework
  • Knowledge of mechanical & electrical system design and schematics
  • Knowledge of L2/L3 networking protocols such as Bridging, Routing, VLAN, NAT, DNS, and DHCP
  • Jira and Xray proven experience
  • Linux, Android and / or QNX user level experience
  • Previous experience with manual and automated testing.
  • Automotive experience is not required, but helps.

This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum.
