Job Description
Skills:
5+ years expertise in data architecture, infrastructure, or data engineering
3+ years' experience working with geospatial data
Expert in using SQL to perform complex data transformations
Expert in building and maintaining data pipelines that transform data to be ingested into a CRM instance
Experience with geospatial data, software, sources, and practical applications
Experience using Python for geospatial applications and leveraging Python libraries to interact with Janus Graph or other graph database
Experience with OpenStreetMap, Precisely, and/or Wiki data location data and layering with business data
Talent for breaking down complex technical concepts into common language and acting as a bridge between technical and departmental stakeholders
Experience working with complex and big data systems across a multitude of relationships and metrics. Ability to apply a creative and nuanced perspective to look beyond common data indicators in order to meet business goals
Duties:
Design, build, and maintain the data pipelines that support global Public Policy efforts. This includes integrations between Airbnb's data warehouse, 3rd party marketing and advocacy tools, and Salesforce (CRM).
Leverage multiple internal and external geospatial datasets to fulfill Public Policy needs ensuring consistent use of geographic definitions for metrics and cross-functional collaboration.
Contribute to the data and tooling strategy that continually evolves our tech stack through feedback and relationship building with the Policy team, Data Science and Biztech teams.
Represent Policy Comms in cross functional efforts with other technical counterparts in CRM, Data Engineering, Data Science, and Data Strategy. Collaborate with these teams to streamline our shared CRM's architecture, performance, and usability.
Identify and evaluate potential external geographic-centric data sources to enhance Airbnb's Policy work, in particular legislative, census, tourism, and elected official data sets.
Collaborate with external data providers to develop scaled integrations of 3rd party data, with a focus on geospatial.
Support daily data management and quality enhancements, cleaning and ingesting static data sets used across Policy by centralizing in both Airbnb's data warehouse and in Salesforce and the centralized data warehouse
