Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: Support to NASA El Paso, Texas, Aircraft Operations Division for MESC Baseline B contract.

Provides IT end-user support for hardware and software. Troubleshoots, analyzes and effects system repairs to ensure required functionality is available. Establishes, tests, and deploys approves software and hardware components to end users.

Duties and Responsibilities (SAIC contract - MESC Baseline B)

Provide Enhanced User Support Services to a user base community of ~20 users. Provide enhanced User support services 20 hours per week to support NASA El Paso customer site staff that works Monday thru Friday, between 7:00am and 5:00pm. Hours are flexible based on users and employee schedule.

Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support an organization's application systems. Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. Experience in writing documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections. Writes manual for users to describe installation and operating procedures. Provides end-user support for hardware and software. Troubleshoots, analyzes and effects system repairs to ensure required functionality is available. Establishes, tests, and deploys approves software and hardware components to end users. Familiar with relational databases and client-server concepts.

Support mission-unique laptops with mostly standard office applications

- Support tablets

- Support smartphones

- Generation of multi-media content for public-outreach

- Provide Standard User Services for NASA El Paso site that is not provided by Agency or Center contracts

- Assist users with setup, configuration management of shared drive resources, printers, maintenance and software reloads, hardware installation, and user questions

- Provide installation, administration, maintenance, and operational support for office printers

Working Conditions:

- Must be capable of gaining NASA badge/clearance with Level of Confidence of 50.

- Hours - flexible 20 hours per week supporting standard office hours Monday - Friday 7 - 5pm.

- Travel - None

- Physical requirements - Sitting, standing, walking, and using a keyboard, lifting up to 35 pounds.

- NASA El Paso customer site work environment.

- Must sign a personal non-disclosure agreement to protect MESC contract sensitive data

Qualifications

Education/Experience: HS with 5 years of IT experience. BA or BS with 1 of IT experience

Optional certification: CompTIA A+
