Senior IT Security & Compliance Project Manager

Location: Houston, TX (100% Onsite)
Duration: 6+ Months (Contract)

<>Job Summary:</>

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Security & Compliance Project Manager to lead enterprise-level security initiatives in cloud and on-premise environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT security, cloud (Azure/AWS), compliance frameworks, and enterprise project delivery. This role requires exceptional leadership, resource management, and stakeholder communication skills to ensure secure and compliant project execution.

<>Responsibilities:</>

  • Lead end-to-end IT security & compliance projects from planning to go-live.

  • Manage cloud security initiatives including architecture reviews, implementation, and compliance.

  • Ensure adherence to security policies, standards, and regulations.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors, and shared resources.

  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules, risks, and dependencies.

  • Provide regular status reports, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies to leadership.

  • Drive alignment between IT teams, business stakeholders, and security requirements.

  • Deliver projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

<>Must-Have Skills:</>

  • 15+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years in IT security & compliance project management.

  • Strong expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and cloud security architecture.

  • Deep knowledge of cybersecurity concepts: IAM, data protection, encryption, threat modeling, defense-in-depth, risk management.

  • Experience managing multiple, complex IT security projects.

  • Proficiency with MS Project, Azure DevOps (TFS), Visio, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

<>Nice-to-Have Skills:</>

  • PMP and/or security certifications (CISSP, CCSP, CCSK).

  • Familiarity with Monday.com or other PM tools.

  • Experience with SDLC in cloud platforms and security risk frameworks.

<>Top Priorities:</>

  • Coordinating multiple IT groups and vendors for decisions and issue resolution.

  • Managing project schedules, action items, issues, and key decisions.

  • Conducting first-level budget reviews.

<>Additional Information:</>

  • 100% Onsite Houston, TX (Preference for local candidates).

  • Must have experience migrating on-premise workloads to cloud data fabric environments.
