Job Description:

We are seeking a Data Scientist with strong data engineering skills to help us build robust, scalable data pipelines that support high-value decision-making across the federal landscape. This role will focus on data normalization and pipeline development-critical functions to ensure that structured and semi-structured data is ready for downstream analytics, visualization, and AI-driven applications.

We are seeking a Data Scientist with strong data engineering skills to help us build robust, scalable data pipelines that support high-value decision-making across the federal landscape. This role will focus on data normalization and pipeline development-critical functions to ensure that structured and semi-structured data is ready for downstream analytics, visualization, and AI-driven applications.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and normalizing data from a variety of sources (sensor data, legacy systems, structured databases, etc.).
- Ensure data is consistently cleansed, normalized, and stored in formats that enable efficient search, retrieval, and integration.
- Collaborate with AI/ML teams, software developers, and mission analysts to support analytic models and operational tools.
- Work with cloud-based architectures (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) to deploy data workflows that meet performance, security, and compliance standards.
- Contribute to the modernization of legacy data systems into flexible, real-time, cloud-native platforms.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or data infrastructure roles.
- Hands-on experience with data pipeline tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, Spark, NiFi, Kafka).
- Proficiency in Python (or other languages like Scala) and experience with structured data tools like SQL.
- Strong understanding of data normalization, schema design, and metadata management.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure) and deploying data workflows in secure environments.
- Must be able to obtain a US government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
- Experience with mission-specific data such as geospatial, cyber, sensor, or logistics datasets.
- Understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and DevSecOps practices.
- Exposure to government data standards, FHIR, NIEM, or other structured data frameworks.
