PostgreSQL DBA

Job Title - PostgreSQL DBA / Engineer

Contract Duration - 6+ Months

Hybrid Locations - Jersey City, NJ OR Mesa, AZ OR Bradenton, FL (Hybrid. 2 days/week onsite (Monday and Thursday).

Essential Responsibilities:

• Manage and optimize PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases for performance and efficiency.
• Creating Hasura API s to be used as the DAL (Data Access Layer).
• GIT Experience including GIT Actions/Automation.
• Implement and maintain cloud-based database solutions, primarily on AWS.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures and functions.
• Ensure database security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate database technology within our infrastructure.
• Provide technical support and guidance on database design and architecture.
• Experience using Hasura layered over PostgresSQL to handle OLTP workloads & API creation
• ETL Experience in AWS.
• Data Migration from on-prem databases to AWS.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Database Engineer or a similar role.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL.
• Proven experience with AWS cloud services related to database management.
• In-depth understanding of SQL and database programming.
• Experience with GIT automation.
• Experience using Hasura and creating APIs.
• Experience with database design, tuning, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with data security, backup, and recovery methods.
• Other areas of expertise would be Data Warehouse and Data Lake for reporting and experience with Migrations from on Prem to AWS.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Skills:

Certifications in PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or AWS.

• Experience with other database technologies and NoSQL databases.
• ETL Experience in AWS.
• Data Migration from on-prem databases to AWS.
• AWS Aurora highly preferred.
• Nice To Have Skills:
• SQL Server is a nice to have.
• AWS ETL tools are also a great to have but not required.
