Data Engineer

Role: Data Engineer
Location: Seattle, WA (Onsite - Locals)
Duration: 6+ months contract

Job Description:

As a Data Engineer you will design, build, and maintain secure, reliable, and scalable data pipelines on cloud platforms. You'll contribute to engineering best practices, production monitoring, and DevOps, while supporting data-driven marketing and personalization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines using Google Cloud Platform, Azure Databricks, Snowflake.
• Create secure data views and publish them to the Enterprise Data Exchange.
• Modernize/migrate pipelines using Databricks Delta Live Tables (DLT) and Unity Catalog.
• Implement CI/CD processes for pipeline deployment.
• Ensure compliance with PII encryption and masking standards.
• Work with orchestration tools (ADF, Airflow, FiveTran) and streaming tech (Kafka, EventHub, Spark, Snowflake Streaming).
• Support and enhance CI/CD, monitoring, and on-call production support.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and the Engineering Community of Practice.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of Data Engineering experience.
• Strong skills in SQL, Python, Oracle, data modeling (Star/Snowflake schemas).
• Hands-on with Google Cloud Platform (Big Query, BigTable), Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, and storage accounts.
• Experience with semi-structured/unstructured data and Clickstream data migration.
• Knowledge of CI/CD principles, monitoring, and incident management.
• Experience with tools like JIRA for task and bug tracking.
• Preferred: Google Professional Data Engineer Certification.
