Job Details

Our non-profit client needs a Business Project Manager for an ongoing Contract engagement to manage various business side projects. Projects will be cross-functional Scholarship Operations projects to prepare for the Season Open. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong project management experience who would like to work in a Mission-based organization that fosters the education and advancement of PreK-12 students.

Essential Functions

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop a comprehensive project plan, including timelines, resource allocation, and dependencies.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle in a timely and productive manner.
  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure adherence to established schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate and communicate project status updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Lead cross-functional teams involved in application and infrastructure projects, providing guidance and support.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and partners, as necessary, to achieve project goals.
  • Ensure quality assurance processes are executed to ensure successful project implementation.
  • Utilize Clarity PPM to manage projects, including timelines, budgets, resources, and risks including creating and updating project schedules, managing resource allocation, and tracking status and progress through regular reporting and monitoring.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and/or a Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or a related field, or a minimum of 8 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred, verifiable PMBOK knowledge will suffice in place of this certification.
  • This position requires 3+ years of experience in a project management role.
  • 3+ years managing business side projects (delivered on-time, meeting client expectations/requirements with high team satisfaction).
  • Prior experience in system integration projects and projects involving financial transactions
  • 2+ years using Microsoft Project or similar project management software tool.
  • Experience with a PPM system such as Clarity (preferred) or other PPM tool is a plus.

  • Knowledge of project management best practices, methodologies, and standards, such as the PMI PMBOK.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects in a dynamic environment and under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Sharp attention to detail, and the ability to investigate and solve problems.
  • Strong meeting facilitation skills.
  • Project Management Experience in developing and tracking to a detailed project plan, including schedules, cost estimates, resource plans, communication plans, risk mitigation plans and issue resolution plans.
