Description:
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to support mission-critical projects by designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and automation processes. This role will be responsible for working with tools such as GitLab, Nexus, and Python to streamline software deployments and system updates. The position requires strong technical expertise, process discipline, and the ability to support deployments across multiple environments. While primarily based in Colorado Springs, CO, travel to alternate work locations may be required.
Location: Onsite in Colorado Springs, CO
Salary: $90,000 to $110,000
Clearance: Secret or Higher
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. - Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Nexus.
- Implement configuration management processes, including versioning, releases, and deployments.
- Create automated pipelines to deploy new configurations into lab environments.
- Develop, document, and update technical processes and procedures.
- Use automation tools such as Ansible to improve efficiency and reliability of deployments.
- Track and report on performance metrics and KPIs, providing insight for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, leveraging Jira and Confluence for planning and documentation.
- Provide support in a DoD environment, ensuring compliance with security and operational requirements.
- Travel to alternate work locations as needed to support project and mission requirements.
Experience Requirements: Required Experience
- Experience with Jira and Confluence for project tracking and documentation.
- Familiarity with network engineering fundamentals.
- Strong background in developing processes, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible.
- Experience developing KPIs, tracking performance, and preparing reports.
- Prior experience working within a DoD environment.
- Proficiency with GitLab and related concepts (branching, merging, CI/CD).
- Strong Python programming skills with the ability to work independently.
- Experience with Object-Oriented Programming.
- Effective communication, writing, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint and Visio.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow structured processes.
Education Requirements: Education
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 5 years of professional experience, OR
- Master's degree in a related discipline and 3 years of professional experience, OR
- Equivalent experience/combined education may be considered.
