Your Opportunity
A great opportunity exists for an experienced CAD Designer, Transportation Structures to join our well-established Transportation team in Coral Gables, Florida. The CAD Designer will work as a team member on small and large projects to assist on plans and designs of structural engineering projects such as bridges and other transportation structures.
This role will perform a variety of tasks which may include assisting with the plans and designs of structures and facilities such as bridges, highway interchanges, roadway reconstruction, subway stations, railroad infrastructure and public spaces. #2158Florida

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Your Opportunity

Your Key Responsibilities
- Uses knowledge of relevant structural engineering of bridges and other transportation structures.
- Assists team in preparing construction contract documents, plans and reports.
- Conducts basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and other similar materials.
- Performs field work as directed by a senior engineer/designer.
- Performs basic calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
- Assists with engineering duties on projects of various complexity.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
- 5+ years relevant experience in Roadway, Bridge and civil structures design production.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation.
- Relevant software experience may include: AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation.
- Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
- Knowledge and skills required includes codes and design standards specific to local geographic market in the Miami-Dade region.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, deadline-driven team environment.
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting, engage in creative and critical thought, and effectively communicate concepts and ideas to others.
- Ability to create and interpret sketches, drawings, and various structures.
Education and Experience
- Associate degree in Drafting/Design or equivalent from an accredited college or technical school or equivalent experience or accreditation is preferred.
- MicroStation experience required.
