This position can be 100% remote. Candidates must be based in Eastern or Central time zones. Candidates based a commutable distance to the Washington, DC / Northern Virginia area who are willing to attend occasional on-site meetings will be prioritized, but is not required.

Overview:
Join a leading organization as a Lead Systems Engineer on the Monitoring Services team, focusing on critical cloud migration and monitoring initiatives. This role is central to consolidating monitoring functionalities with Datadog as the primary tool and supporting the migration of 200+ applications to the commercial cloud, as well as migrating on-premise applications to AWS. You will be instrumental in configuring and administering Datadog across various functionalities within a dynamic, agile environment. Responsibilities include
Lead the administration, configuration, and implementation of Datadog for comprehensive monitoring solutions.
Set up and configure Datadog in the AWS platform for monitoring various AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, and EKS.
Configure and manage all core functionalities of Datadog, including Infrastructure Monitoring, Application Performance Management (APM), Log Management, Network Device Monitoring, Network Performance Monitoring, Synthetic Monitoring, and Real User Monitoring.
Support migration efforts of applications from on-premise to AWS, ensuring robust monitoring with Datadog.
Handle projects independently and collaborate effectively with other stakeholders.
Participate in an agile environment, potentially learning and working with other monitoring or event management tools like BigPanda as needed.
Required Qualifications:
At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Datadog administration and configuration.
Demonstrated expertise in setting up Datadog at an administrative level, beyond basic user or installation tasks.
Strong experience with AWS platform and monitoring AWS services using Datadog.
Proficiency in configuring Datadog for various functionalities including APM, log management, network monitoring, synthetic monitoring, and real user monitoring.
Ability to work independently and manage monitoring-related projects.
