Job Details

Location: Lincoln, RI
Salary: $80,000.00 USD Annually - $90,000.00 USD Annually
Description:
Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking to hire an R&D Mechanical Engineer with 3-7 years of experience and a background in project management. You will work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, contributing to the design of mechanical systems, development of manufacturing solutions, and execution of engineering projects from concept to implementation.

Full time, direct hire

Onsite in Lincoln, RI

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and test mechanical systems and components.
  • Support development and sourcing of automated equipment and assembly fixtures.
  • Engineer new equipment and processes for green energy and emerging markets.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify and validate materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Plan and execute testing, validation, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Support quoting activities with lead time, cost, and resource estimates.
  • Travel as needed to support projects or suppliers.


Qualifications
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3-7 years of mechanical design and development experience.
  • Project management experience (formal or informal).
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Machining knowledge (mill, lathe, CNC).
  • FEA and thermal modeling experience.
  • Test fixture design and material testing.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, servo/stepper motors.
  • Spanish language proficiency.
  • Experience with fiber laser cutting machines (Amada preferred).
  • Experience with high-temperature and vacuum environments.
