Job Title: UX Specialist II

Job Summary:

Are you passionate about uncovering user needs and translating insights into impactful design solutions? As a UX Researcher II at Elsevier, you'll play a crucial role in shaping user experiences by conducting impactful research, aligning with product objectives, and collaborating with designers, PMs, and engineers. Join our dynamic teams and help prepare the next generation of health professionals by providing insights that drive our content and assessment tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Problem-Solving & Strategy:

• Collaborate with your squad to explore problems from multiple perspectives.
• Align research solutions with product strategy.
• Identify exploratory research opportunities with product leadership.
• Apply appropriate research methods to achieve goals.

Research Leadership & Execution:

• Develop an evidence-based research strategy in partnership with cross-functional teams.
• Model excellence (not perfection) in user-centered research processes.
• Advocate for UX research best practices.
• Efficiently iterate research within two-week sprint cycles.
• Use data to define and track key metrics, providing clear insights.
• Recruit and manage research study participants.

Customer Focus:

• Acquire a thorough understanding of customer use cases and ensure their needs are addressed.
• Gain deeper knowledge of market segments and competitors.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Anthropology, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in UX research, preferably in a healthcare or education-related field.
• Proficiency in a variety of research methodologies, including usability testing, interviews, surveys, and heuristic evaluations.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is a plus.
• Strong passion for improving user experiences and driving innovation in healthcare education.
