Job Summary

  The Associate Principal in Legal will lead the management and oversight of legal compliance contract review and policy governance to support organizational risk mitigation and regulatory adherence

 

Job Description 

  • Lead monitoring, analysis, and tracking of emerging legal compliances across key areas such as Immigration and Data Privacy,
  • Provide strategic legal advice on legislative changes, research topics, and finalize management positions,
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with applicable regulatory requirements and timely implementation of compliance measures,
  • Exercise oversight on internally published policies, ensuring amendments and new creations align with regulatory requirements through cross-functional coordination,
  • Stay abreast of legal developments, proactively identifying risks and opportunities for the organization,
  • Manage external counsel relationships and support commercial litigation matters as required.

 

Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and legal documents with precision and clarity,
  • Provide expert legal advice and counsel on commercial and other corporate legal matters,
  • Coordinate and manage legal projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met effectively,
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and prepare high-quality written legal materials,
  • Provide quarterly updates on emerging compliance trends and non-compliance issues to the Audit and Compliance Committee,
  • Handle escalations related to legal and compliance matters with strong negotiation and communication skills,
  • Empower teams by challenging the status quo and driving value through innovative legal solutions,
  • Maintain strong interpersonal relationships and clear communication with internal stakeholders and external legal vendors.
