Job Title: NG911 Integration Engineer
Location: Brooklyn, NY On-Site at 2 MetroTech Center Duration: 12 Months (Dec 2025 Nov 2026)
Work Hours: Monday Friday, 9:00 AM 5:00 PM ET (35 hours/week)
Overview
Join a major public safety modernization program focused on the Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG911) system upgrade. The NG911 Integration Engineer will be responsible for leading system integration, testing, and validation across multiple public safety and telecommunication subsystems. This is a hands-on, on-site role ensuring the interoperability and reliability of critical call-handling technologies used by emergency services.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and execute integration and testing of systems and subsystems within the NG911 environment.
  • Coordinate integration between Public Safety IT systems and the NG911 core infrastructure.
  • Lead technical discussions in integration planning; manage tracking and resolution of all related action items.
  • Work closely with project leads and subcontractors to validate interfaces with the NG911 system.
  • Develop and execute test cases for SAT and SIT, identifying risks throughout the integration lifecycle.
  • Verify all interfaces and connectivity in production environments.
  • Support end-to-end system integration testing and assist during system cutover and go-live events.

Mandatory Qualifications
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in system integration, network engineering, or related public safety communication systems.
  • Strong understanding of OSI Layers 1 7, including Layer 3 routing and Layer 4 7 service delivery.
  • Experience integrating systems in multi-vendor environments (e.g., MSCI, NICE, Motorola, Cisco, Fortinet, F5).
  • Knowledge of NG911 Core Services (NGCS) such as ESRP, ECRF/LVF, and CHS components.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools like Wireshark, packet captures, syslogs, and SNMP traps.
  • Hands-on experience with call flow validation, routing scenario testing, and production cutover support.
  • Familiarity with NIST 800-53, CJIS, and OTI Cyber Command cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Experience implementing IPsec VPNs, SSL/TLS encryption, RBAC, and secure network configurations.
  • Skills in network segmentation, firewall rule management, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

Desirable Skills
  • Familiarity with Public Safety Answering Center (PSAC) infrastructure and redundancy models.
  • Knowledge of incident escalation, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures.
  • Understanding of NENA i3 architecture and NG911 standards (ESRP, LIS, LoST, ECRF/LVF, SIPREC).
  • Experience with PSAPs, CAD systems, logging, and GIS components within a 911 environment.
