RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Technical Project Manager - Public Sector (Infrastructure Projects) on-site in San Antonio, TX.
Summary:
The client is looking for a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to support their IT Infrastructure team on-site as a project lead. The person selected for this role will lead two infrastructure-focused projects: the completion of an enterprise-wide Windows 11 migration, and a high-priority data center transformation project migrating from VMware to Nutanix.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage PMO documentation, project artifacts, and reporting for both initiatives
* Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, deliverables, and resourcing needs
* Lead the completion of a Windows 11 upgrade for ~2,500 remaining end users
* Serve as the technical lead and project manager for a full-scale VMware to Nutanix migration
* Facilitate collaboration with internal IT teams, infrastructure engineers, and internal and external partners
* Monitor progress, assess risks, and execute mitigation strategies
* Maintain roadmaps, charters, and governance documentation
* Drive effective communication with stakeholders across business and technical teams
* Ensure alignment with strategic IT goals and compliance with public sector standards
REQUIREMENTS:
* Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure or platform migrations
* Strong working knowledge of VMware and Nutanix technologies
* Experience with enterprise Windows OS upgrades and deployments
* Demonstrated success leading technical teams in complex, cross-functional environments
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Demonstrated success and experience in technology project management roles
* Strong understanding of PMI and Agile principles
* Excellent presentation and communication skills, both in person and in writing
* Public sector or government project experience is preferred
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
