Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Developer / SQL SME with extensive experience in writing complex queries, optimizing database performance, and troubleshooting SQL-related issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application development and database architecture, with a passion for data integrity, optimization, and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for SQL across the organization or project.

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.

  • Optimize and troubleshoot slow-running queries and performance bottlenecks.

  • Analyze data requirements, build logical and physical data models, and implement solutions that support business goals.

  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver efficient, scalable SQL solutions.

  • Assist in database migration, upgrades, and patching as needed.

  • Conduct data quality checks and ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability of datasets.

  • Support production and non-production environments, ensuring high availability and security.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with SQL development and performance tuning.

  • Strong expertise in writing complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.

  • Proficient in query optimization and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Solid understanding of relational database design and data modeling concepts.

  • Experience working with enterprise-level databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.

  • Familiarity with application development concepts and integration with databases.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SSIS, SSRS, or other BI/reporting tools is a plus.

  • Knowledge of cloud databases (e.g., Azure SQL, Amazon RDS) is a plus.

  • Familiarity with version control tools like Git.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
