Job Details
Description
This team does build automation and is transitioning onto the agora platform. Team has done the design and build automations for rolling out Bank of America's hosted cloud (internal cloud). That is well underway but there are changes with new hardware that the team then had to do to convert infra onto new platforms. Work that the team is focused on now is that the hardware is heavyweight and the intent was to support high performance workloads and eliminate the reliance on bare metal platforms, there is design and automation work that may come out of that but things are BAU for now. Team is focused on Lifecyle management and working towards an environment where they are not reliant on singular racks anymore. Team is working on a project called "migration factory" which is an automation project to move workloads off of single rack configuration and onto agora with new clusters without needing to change IP addresses.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Cloud Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for Internal Cloud. Help assist the Core Engineering team with the development and testing of automation to remediate the approximately 5000 legacy ESXi hypervisors in 2025 that cannot support the bank's latest ESXi 8.0U3 operating system and establish a repeatable process to handle hypervisor hardware lifecycle management as part of a refresh program within Bank of America Cloud going forward. Contribute to creating a best-in-class software development environment that can be replicated across the organization. Candidates must have 5+ years of experience working with vSphere (vCenter ESXi), Aria Suite, NSX-T platforms at scale. Work collaboratively as a part of the Software Engineering team to enable the development, configuration, and operation of key systems and applications. Streamline our development operations and processes, standardize environments, as well as build and maintain tools for development, automated testing, regression, deployment, monitoring and operations. Will be responsible for automation and streamlining of multiple vSphere/NSX-T/Aria Suite development operations and processes. Build and maintain automated tools for deployment, monitoring and day to day vSphere, NSX-T, Aria Suite operations. Create and present design and development progress to peers via the Agile methodologies. Work closely with developers, engineers, and cross-organization SRE resources to certify, test, document, and troubleshoot complex multi-tiered systems and processes within the vSphere and Aria product suite.
Previously functioned in an SRE role within a large production environment, with a focus on automation testing experience.
Hands-on production experience with vSphere, Aria Suite, and NSX-T products
Strong development background in vSphere APIs, Aria Suite APIs, NSX-T APIs, Python, Ansible
Experience with customizing vSphere, Aria Suite, NSX-T deployment automation and configurations to specifications
Knowledge of HCI bench
