We are seeking a skilled and proactive Microsoft Office 365 Administrator & Governance Specialist to manage and secure our Microsoft 365 environment. This role is critical to ensuring platform stability, security, and compliance across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft Entra ID. You will lead governance initiatives, implement security best practices, and support user education to drive adoption and responsible usage of Microsoft 365 services.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD).
Define, implement, and maintain governance policies aligned with compliance frameworks (e.g., data retention, DLP, access control).
Manage security and compliance configurations using Microsoft Purview, Conditional Access, MFA, and related tools.
Leverage PowerShell and Graph API for scripting and automation of administrative tasks.
Integrate and monitor platform health, security, and usage analytics via Microsoft 365 Admin Center and compliance reports.
Collaborate with cybersecurity, IT, and business stakeholders to define governance models and ensure policy alignment.
Educate users on Microsoft 365 capabilities, responsible usage, and compliance best practices.
Assist in change management, incident response, and lifecycle management of services and policies.
Work with tools such as AvePoint Cloud Management (preferred) for backup, auditing, and policy enforcement.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 services.
Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and security principles in Microsoft 365.
Experience with Microsoft 365 Admin Centers (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Entra ID).
Scripting experience with PowerShell and use of Microsoft Graph API.
Familiarity with identity and access management, including Conditional Access and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
Excellent communication and documentation skills; ability to explain technical concepts to business users.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Certifications such as MS-102 (Microsoft 365 Administrator) or SC-300 (Identity and Access Administrator).
Experience with Microsoft Purview, Power Platform integration, and AvePoint Cloud Management.
Knowledge of change management methodologies and experience supporting hybrid or remote environments.
