As a Principal Data Architect at JPMorgan Chase within Infrastructure Platforms on the Data Protection and Recovery Team, you will provide expertise to enhance and develop architecture platforms utilizing modern on-premise and cloud-based technologies. Job responsibilities
- Advise cross-functional teams on technology selection to achieve target state architecture and decisions on improvements to current technologies
- Develop roadmaps aligned with business and architecture strategy and priorities
- Create complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design
- Develop secure and high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others
- Serve as the function's go-to subject matter expert
- Contribute to the development of technical methods using the latest product development methodologies
- Produce durable, reusable software frameworks that improves velocity and quality of output across teams and functions
- Create a robust and efficient data infrastructure that supports the organization's data-driven decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with business, product, and technology teams early in the product lifecycle to infuse end-to-end architecture thinking into the planning.
- Maintain enterprise-level data protection practices include developing, deploying, and auditing products and services through privacy by design, privacy engineering, risk models, and frameworks
- Deliver data architecture in alignment with established standards, models, and patterns.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience.
- Expertise with products related to APIs, SDKs, Micro services' frameworks, Developer Platforms (including Cloud native tooling), IAM (Identity and Access Management)
- Advanced knowledge of software architecture, application development, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise and more broadly across the organization
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Expertise in one or more programming language(s) and experience working at code level
- Ability to apply new methods and design solutions for complex architecture problems
- Proficient at engaging stakeholders across an organization to set strategy, align on priorities and deliver to a roadmap while managing changing business needs and requirements
- Blueprint Data Architecture, including multi-year transitions and recommendations to drive transformation and modernization
- Adept at leading Enterprise Data Architecture Modeling and designs leveraging cross-domain architects and leadership to create the best technical design
- Ability to effectively collaborate with Lean Portfolio Management to provide a high-level vision of enterprise data solutions and development initiatives.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Advanced Degree in Computer Science
- 10+ years of hands-on design and implementation experience in software engineering
- Ability to present and effectively communicate to Senior Leaders and Executives
- Passion for building high-quality developer experiences and a commitment to product excellence
- 5+ years of experience developing enterprise-class technology and solutions architectures, inclusive of service-oriented or microservices architectures, event-driven architecture, data platforms, and user experience architectures.
