Description
We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to lead the design, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise-level Kafka infrastructure. As the subject matter expert on Kafka architecture, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring system reliability and aligning technical solutions with organizational objectives. This is a long-term contract position based in Las Vegas, Nevada, offering the opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects within the banking industry.
Responsibilities:
Design, manage, and optimize enterprise-scale Kafka environments to support business needs.
Act as the primary expert on Kafka architecture, implementation, and disaster recovery strategies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure solutions with organizational goals.
Monitor system performance and reliability using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and AppDynamics.
Ensure high availability and scalability of infrastructure with round-the-clock operational support.
Provide clear and effective communication of technical challenges and solutions to diverse stakeholders.
Develop thorough documentation and best practices for Kafka-related processes and configurations.
Implement automation and cloud technologies to enhance infrastructure efficiency.
Contribute to the integration of networking solutions, including VLANs, routing, and subnet configurations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience.
At least 7 years of experience in senior-level infrastructure or systems engineering roles.
Hands-on experience with managing enterprise-grade Kafka clusters.
Strong understanding of Kafka internals, ecosystem, and architecture.
In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, including IP routing, subnets, VLANs, and related technologies.
Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS and OpenShift.
Familiarity with technologies like Cisco, Citrix, and automation tools.
Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
