Software Developer In Test II

Are you passionate about delivering high-quality software through innovative testing strategies? We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Software Developer in Test II to join our team and help elevate the quality of our enterprise applications. This temporary position offers a unique opportunity to work on complex testing initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the development of reliable, high-performing software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze both business and technical requirements to ensure clarity, completeness, and testability.
  • Develop a deep understanding of business processes and supporting applications developed or implemented at Enterprise Products.
  • Lead test planning efforts for new and existing software applications, covering all testing types including functionality, deployment, configuration, performance, integration, and usability.
  • Track test coverage, progress, and results using the software lifecycle management tools, ensuring visibility and accountability throughout the testing process.
  • Design, develop, and maintain test harnesses that enable rapid, repeatable, and reportable test execution, supporting continuous integration and delivery efforts.
  • Automate test scenarios to enhance test coverage, increase efficiency, and reduce testing costs—focusing on high-value, repeatable tests.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to identify, document, and resolve software defects promptly, ensuring high-quality releases.
  • Manage defect tracking and reporting within lifecycle management tools, providing clear insights into issue status and resolution.
  • Monitor post-release application quality, triaging issues, and working proactively with developers to expedite fixes and ensure user satisfaction.
  • Adhere to and help uphold development and quality standards, continuously improving testing processes.
  • Support other testing and quality assurance activities as assigned, contributing to the overall success of enterprise application deliveries.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience leading and managing testing efforts within large enterprise IT projects across multiple teams.
  • Proven experience in test automation development and scripting, with a strong programming background (minimum of 5+ years in programming or test automation).
  • Working knowledge of runtime memory analysis, code profiling tools, and performance testing methodologies is highly desired.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure and networking concepts, including load balancing, Active Directory, messaging middleware, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere), and .NET applications.
  • Basic SQL skills: creating complex queries, data modeling, backup/restore processes, and supporting testing scenarios through data manipulation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills—able to articulate complex technical ideas clearly to developers, DBAs, business analysts, and leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate the impact of software quality issues and deliver actionable insights.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS/MIS, or a related field from a recognized four-year accredited university. Equivalent experience will also be considered.

Pay Rate: $80.00 - $82.00 Hourly
