Position: Communications Specialist/Technical Writer
Length: 6 months + extension
Location: Richmond, Virginia- On-site 3 days a week
  • Create and execute integrated internal communications and change management plans in support of the IT department and IT projects
  • Support execution of tactics outlined in IT's global internal communications strategy
  • Write, edit, and proofread a variety of communications for publication to the IT department and company-wide (leadership level messaging, organizational announcements, technology changes)
  • Ensure that content is aligned with organizational goals, and is engaging
  • Publish to a variety of channels including email, SharePoint online, and Microsoft Teams
  • Craft messages that resonate with all levels of employees, technical and non-technical audiences
  • Partner with creative resources to ensure communications are compliant with internal brand and style guidelines
  • Format content in a way that is readable and easy to digest
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of communications and recommend continuous improvements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or University Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, Public Relations, Business, Education, Writing, or Management
  • Strong writing skills (AP Style) with the ability to develop clear, concise messages
  • Expertise with M365 tools, Word, PPT, SharePoint, Teams, Copilot
  • Experience in internal communications, change management, and global communication programs
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced
