Job Description:

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Framework Development: Establish and implement robust data governance and classification frameworks tailored to the needs of a dynamic pharmaceutical environment.
  • Policy Formulation and Implementation: Define policies and standards for data governance and classification, ensuring alignment with industry regulations and organizational goals.
  • Data Stewardship: Establish stewardship of data, ensuring accurate classification, usage, and maintenance throughout its lifecycle.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with stakeholders across the organization, including IT, legal, compliance, and operational teams, to foster data governance and classification awareness and adherence.
  • Risk Identification and Mitigation: Proactively identify data-related risks and develop strategies to mitigate these, ensuring robust mechanisms are in place to protect data integrity and privacy.
  • Technology and Tools Deployment: Coordinate with IT to select and implement state-of-the-art tools and technologies that support data governance and classification objectives.
  • Training and Advocacy: Lead educational initiatives to elevate organization-wide understanding of and compliance with data governance and classification standards.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of data governance and classification practices to senior management and regulatory bodies, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Data Science, Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in data governance or data management, with substantial experience in setting up governance frameworks, particularly in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sectors.
  • Skills:
  • Deep knowledge of data governance frameworks and data classification standards.
  • Experience with data privacy laws and regulatory compliance, such as GDPR and HIPAA.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with proficiency in persuading and educating diverse stakeholder groups.
