Overview

DecisionPoint seeks a CMS Front End Developer to support the design, development, and enhancement of user-facing features within an enterprise Content Management System supporting a large federal and DoD-aligned mission environment. This role implements UI/UX updates, templates, components, and visual design elements while ensuring accessibility compliance, responsive behavior, and digital design consistency.

The CMS Front End Developer contributes to the modernization of digital experiences, improves usability, and ensures that all front-end code meets accessibility, security, and performance standards.

This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

The CMS Front End Developer will:

  • Execute UI/UX updates, components, templates, and design enhancements within the CMS.
  • Develop accessible and responsive front-end experiences meeting Section 508 and WCAG requirements.
  • Translate wireframes, mockups, and design specifications into production-ready front-end code.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, architects, and developers to maintain visual and branding consistency.
  • Optimize front-end code for speed, accessibility, and maintainability.
  • Implement design system elements, reusable components, and standardized UI patterns.
  • Support CMS modernization efforts and migration of legacy UI elements.
  • Conduct front-end testing and validation across browsers and devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve UI bugs, layout issues, and rendering inconsistencies.
  • Provide recommendations for UX improvements and front-end best practices.
  • Maintain technical documentation for components, styling, and front-end standards.
Qualifications

Clearance Requirement

Must hold an active Secret clearance, supported by a Tier 3 background investigation.

Education (Required)

Bachelor's degree in Web Development, Computer Science, Digital Media, or a related field.

Experience (Required)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in front-end development supporting CMS platforms or enterprise web applications.
  • Experience implementing templates, components, and UI elements in a CMS environment.
  • Experience developing accessible user experiences compliant with Section 508 or WCAG.
  • Experience converting design mockups into responsive, production-ready code.

Technical Knowledge (Required)

  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end development practices.
  • Experience working with CMS templating systems, themes, or component frameworks.
  • Knowledge of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with accessibility guidelines and testing tools.
  • Experience using version control and participating in code reviews.

Technical Knowledge (Preferred)

  • Experience with modern frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
  • Experience implementing or contributing to design systems and component libraries.
  • Familiarity with headless CMS or decoupled architectures.

Certifications

Required:

None

Preferred:

  • Certified Front-End Developer or similar credential
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent
  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI ACP)

Skills

  • Strong attention to visual detail and quality.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with designers and developers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot UI issues and propose scalable solutions.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design and accessibility best practices.
  • Ability to balance design requirements with technical feasibility and performance considerations.
