About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our engineering team on a contingent basis. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of robust test automation frameworks and tools. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, and quality assurance teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and test harnesses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into test strategies.
• Implement automated tests for APIs, UI components, and backend services using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, and Karate.
• Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Harness, or similar tools.
• Develop and maintain unit tests using mocking frameworks.
• Set up and manage in-memory databases (e.g., H2) for test environments.
• Create and maintain test documentation, including test plans, traceability matrices, and manual test cases.
• Utilize test management tools such as Octane to track and report on test coverage and results.
• Contribute to performance and load testing using tools like JMeter or BlazeMeter.
• Apply BDD methodologies to enhance collaboration and test clarity.
• Develop automation scripts for APIGEE endpoints and messaging systems.
• Leverage AI tools like GitHub Copilot to accelerate test development and improve code quality.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in software engineering or test automation, or equivalent experience through work, consulting, military service, or education.
• Proficiency in C# .NET and Angular.
• Strong analytical, coding, and software design skills.
• Experience with API testing, UI automation, and CI/CD integration.
• Familiarity with SDLC compliance and quality assurance best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with load testing tools (JMeter, BlazeMeter).
• Prior experience in a BDD development environment.
• Knowledge of test automation for messaging systems and API gateways.
