Job Details

Job Title: Senior Cloud Application Architect (Java / Microservices)

Duration: 8 months

Location: Austin, TX

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of cloud-native enterprise applications.
  • Define and enforce application architecture standards using Java EE, Spring Boot, and microservices.
  • Design scalable, secure, and high-performance systems on cloud platforms (AWS/Google Cloud Platform).
  • Translate business requirements into technical architecture and solution designs.
  • Oversee and contribute to hands-on development, ensuring best practices and code quality.
  • Design and integrate APIs and event-driven architectures (REST, messaging systems).
  • Guide adoption of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and 12-Factor App principles.
  • Ensure security, reliability, and maintainability of cloud-native applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to development teams.

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of Strong experience with Java EE, Spring Boot, and microservices frameworks.
  • 8+ years of Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Google) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • 8+ years of Proficiency in API design and integration (REST, GraphQL).
  • 8+ years of Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
  • 8+ years of Knowledge of security best practices for cloud-native applications.
  • 8+ years of Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • 8+ years of Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • 8+ years of Exposure to serverless computing and cloud-native services.
  • 8+ years of Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) for modeling complex business domains.

Preferred Skills:

  • 8+ years of Knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • 8+ years of Familiarity with performance tuning and high-availability strategies.
  • 8+ years of Understanding of cost optimization in cloud environments.
  • 8+ years of Healthcare industry experience preferred
  • 8+ years of Fundamental understanding of the Information Management principles, IT processes, SDLC, architecture and technologies adopted by an organization.
  • 8+ years of Consulting and Facilitation Skills.
  • 8+ years of Customer-focused ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • 8+ years of Proactive Leadership style; self-starter and strong attention to detail.
  • 3+ years of Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
  • 3+ years of Experience in Texas or other state eligibility system
