Description
SAIC is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support the AF TENCAP HOPE 2.0 contract. The AF TENCAP HOPE 2.0 contract bridges intelligence community collection architectures, capabilities, and technologies with DoD operational and tactical requirements. This effort will deliver rapid, innovative, and cost-effective capabilities to meet warfighter needs, and will include bringing national capabilities to bear cross all warfighting domains spanning intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, combat applications, battlespace awareness, command and control, multi-level security and mission programs. This next generation approach shall employ the latest advancements in geolocation and tagging, sensor and data fusion, unconventional / asymmetric warfare, situational awareness, cyberspace and spectrum warfare, large data analytics, data lake, jamming technologies, sensor technologies, geo-registration to deliver a cutting-edge approach.
The Cybersecurity Engineer plays a crucial role in AF TENCAP by designing and implementing secure IT systems and network infrastructures from the outset, ensuring robust security postures that meet the stringent requirements of the US Air Force.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in cybersecurity engineering, with a deep understanding of security controls, firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection systems. This individual will excel in performing risk assessments, implementing secure solutions, and collaborating with technical teams to ensure that all security measures are in place from the design phase. Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity policies, RMF, and certification processes is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement secure solutions for IT systems and network infrastructures from the initial phase of development.
- Perform risk and vulnerability assessments, deploying security applications and controls to mitigate operational risks.
- Coordinate security protocols & evaluate new security technologies to enhance defenses.
- Support the implementation of government security policies and support Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) processes to meet NIST 800-53 compliance requirements and achieve IATT, CtF, or ATO status.
- Support engagement with government Authorizing Officials (AO) and Security Controls Assessors (SCA) to ensure compliance with security protocols and obtain necessary approvals.
- Provide technical support and guidance to technical teams, ensuring that secure design principles are integrated into all phases of system development.
- Develop and maintain all RMF artifacts required in support of accreditation, including the Security Plan, Security Access Roster, Security Assessment Report, Security Controls Traceability Matrix, and Plan of Actions and Milestones.
- Perform root cause analysis to address system failures, support cybersecurity operations, and validate compliance with cybersecurity policies and network infrastructure security.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in cybersecurity to continually enhance the security posture of AF TENCAP systems.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Active Top Secret Clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 9 Years of Experience in DoD IT/Cybersecurity Roles.
- 3 Years of Experience as an ISSM, ISSO, or ISSE for Classified DoD/IC Systems.
- Experience in the execution of RMF processes.
- DoD 8570/8140 certifications or equivalent in Information Assurance and Cybersecurity (e.g., Security+ or higher).
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or similar advanced cybersecurity certifications.
- Familiarity with security monitoring tools, threat analysis, and vulnerability management.
- Experience with advanced cybersecurity tools and technologies.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security and securing hybrid IT environments.
- Understanding of advanced threat detection and mitigation techniques.
