Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday Friday, 0730 1630 (excluding federal holidays)

Overview:

The Energy Academic Group (EAG) at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) is seeking a skilled Technical Graphic Designer to support the development and delivery of cutting-edge graduate education programs in energy and operational energy (OE). The designer will contribute to curriculum development by creating compelling technical graphics and digital media that help communicate complex energy concepts to Navy, Marine Corps, and Department of Defense stakeholders.

The Energy Academic Group is a multidisciplinary team leveraging science, engineering, operations research, business, and visual communication to address critical national security challenges. The work supports the development of graduate-level courses, training programs, and strategic research initiatives aligned with Navy and DoD priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and produce high-quality visual content including infographics, charts, diagrams, and illustrations that support curriculum and research objectives.
  • Develop interactive e-learning assets such as animations, web-based simulations, and digital learning modules.
  • Create outreach and marketing materials (posters, banners, brochures, social media graphics) to promote energy education programs to internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and curriculum developers to visually communicate energy systems, concepts, and strategies across areas such as energy security, infrastructure resilience, and operational energy planning.

  • Branded outreach materials to promote EAG programs to Navy and Marine Corps stakeholders.

Minimum Technical Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years experience in creating accurate and visually appealing data visualizations and technical graphics.
  • Minimum five years experience in using industry-standard graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Minimum of five years experience working with the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) and specifically with the Energy Academic Group (EAG), demonstrating an understanding of EAG's needs and objectives.

Work Location & Hours:

  • There will be some required in-person work at Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. Other work can be done remotely.
  • The Contractor shall provide services during normal working hours excluding federal holidays. Normal working hours are 0730-1630, Monday through Friday, unless requirements dictate otherwise. Exceptions can be permitted by the COR upon request and at the COR s discretion.
