Job Details

Seeking a Senior Manager-Software Asset Management (SAM) to lead, advise & manage the delivery of software asset management capabilities.

-Combine the responsibilities of ensuring the smooth & reliable operation of the software service while guiding the Software Asset Managers to better manage their capabilities & identify opportunities for improvement.

Duration: 12 months
Work location: Dallas (onsite)

-Possess a strong understanding of software asset mgt. lifecycles, IT service & asset management (ITSM & ITAM) leading practices.

-Proactive problem-solver with excellent communication & leadership skills, capable of fostering a collaborative & high-performing team environment.

Duties:
-Oversee end-to-end service delivery for Software Asset Management initiatives, ensuring alignment with ITIL processes.
-Partner with internal stakeholders (IT, Procurement, Finance, Compliance, Internal Audit) to ensure effective software license tracking, consumption, optimization & compliance.
-Drive the future implementation of SAM tools in ServiceNow & processes, including integration with vendors for license consumption.
-Monitor & report on license usage, audits, renewals &  compliance posture.
-Work with the Software Asset Managers to refine the current capabilities & prioritize features.
-Manage & optimize the software portfolio with focus on "big rock" publishers and licensing costs.
-Facilitate communication & collaboration between the development team, product owner & stakeholders.
-Lead & coordinate effective audit defense strategies to minimize financial exposure & business disruption.
-Streamline software portfolio management processes to eliminate complexity & drive efficiency.
-Identify and execute strategic cost-saving opportunities through co-terming, license reclamation & application rationalization.
-Establish a single point of contact approach for major software publishers to enhance relationship management.
-Develop a holistic view of software assets across all business towers.
-Drive continuous process improvements related to software asset management in collaboration with the governance lead.
-Drive efficiency in software lifecycle management processes, including end of life.
-Reduce complexity in software portfolio management.

Required:
-At least15 yrs. of relevant exp. (bachelor s degree in applicable field may be substituted for 5yrs of exp.).
-At least 5 yrs. of  ITAM or IT operations exp.
-Relevant certifications (CSAM, CITAM, ITIL).
-Strong knowledge of Software Asset Management principles and lifecycle processes.
-Knowledge of software publisher-specific licensing programs & metrics.
-Exp. working with ServiceNow, Flexera, or other SAM tools.
-Exp. with vendor & contract management.
-Excellent stakeholder management, communication & organizational skills.
