Software Engineers (Associate/Experienced)

The Boeing Company is seeking self-motivated Software Engineers (Associate/Experienced) to become a member of the Training Systems Team in Hazelwood, MO. This Software Engineer will develop software for real-time distributed systems and will be familiar with distributed communication and messaging, as well as multi-threaded application development.
The P-8 Vehicle Simulation Software Team develops quality training software for onboard surveillance and weapons systems, and the software for a full motion pilot training simulator for both Domestic and Foreign Military Sales as well as Direct Commercial Sales. P-8 Aircrew Training currently supports multiple concurrent foreign and domestic contracts and continues to grow. The P-8 Aircrew Training Program operates in a SAFe Agile environment utilizing cross-functional teams consisting of Software, Systems Engineering, and Integration, all executing toward a common trainer delivery.
Position Responsibilities:
Participate as a member of a high performing, collaborative team and be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, excellent time management, and interpersonal skills.
Have the ability to work with multiple support teams to identify and resolve issues.
Implement and test software and systems using a variety of technologies.
Clearly communicate issues and suggest alternative paths forward.
Understand, support, and apply agile principles, practices, and processes.
Support teams in problem identification, root cause analysis, and decision making.
Communicate up and out as well as down and in.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
1+ years of experience with professional software development
1+ years of experience with object-oriented software development (C/C++, Java)
1+ years of experience in hardware and software integration
1+ years of experience developing, documenting, and maintaining architectures, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems
Experience with Linux or Windows development
Experience with Git, or equivalent version control system
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with distributed, real-time computational systems
Experience designing and developing software for complex systems, such as distributed systems, multi-threaded and multi-process applications, and client-server architectures
Working knowledge of existing Boeing simulation frameworks such as PSIM, Common Simulation Framework, SimBinary
Familiarity with simulation standards such as High-Level Architecture, Distributed Interactive Simulation, and Distributed Mission Operations
Working knowledge of various bus protocols, and message traffic analysis and debugging
Experience in software development for avionics systems
Experience in working with acoustics systems is a plus
Experience with Scaled Agile Framework, SAFe
Experience with Jira
Travel: less than 10%
