Summary
The Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) is responsible for driving the analysis, design, testing, and implementation of technology solutions that align with business needs. This role supports production issues, translates business requirements into functional designs, and acts as a liaison between technical teams and business users. The BSA facilitates user acceptance testing (UAT), prepares workflow diagrams, leads requirement-gathering sessions, and supports end-to-end solution delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Analysis & Solution Design
- Lead requirements elicitation, documentation, and management.
- Translate business needs into functional specs (use cases, workflows, data models).
- Provide functional, conceptual, and logical design documentation.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend solutions to critical business challenges.
- Conduct impact analysis of new corporate initiatives on existing systems.
- Project Coordination
- Collaborate with Project Managers to track timelines, risks, and project status.
- Coordinate development through implementation across internal and external stakeholders.
- Estimate effort for business analysis and development/testing activities.
- Prepare execution plans and manage project risks.
- User Engagement & Testing
- Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT), including scenario development and test execution.
- Develop and deliver training materials to end-users and internal teams.
- Ensure continuous user involvement throughout development lifecycle.
- Support go-live activities and post-implementation reviews.
- Documentation & Communication
- Maintain detailed documentation for requirements, testing, user guides, and workflows.
- Document lessons learned, change requests, and system modifications.
- Deliver ongoing communication and awareness plans for new systems or features.
- System & Application Support
- Analyze and resolve production support issues in collaboration with developers and DBAs.
- Maintain system documentation and manage application lifecycle processes.
- Evaluate third-party software and vendor solutions as needed.
- Participate in release and deployment planning across multiple environments.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Healthcare IT, or a related field.
- Equivalent experience in a distributed computing or clinical environment may be considered.
- Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in business analysis, including 2+ years in healthcare.
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft technologies and tools used in software development.
- Background in project management is highly desirable.

- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other collaboration tools.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support operational systems used by Client Support.
- Assist developers in preparing complex datasets and business rules.
- Participate in training delivery and documentation for both users and IT teams.
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies and safeguard credentials.
