Role: Lead OneSource Configuration Engineer
Locations: Hoboken, NJ/ Remote

Mode of Hire: Contract

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient OneSource Configuration Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing the Thomson Reuters OneSource platform to support global tax compliance and reporting processes. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of tax technology systems, data integration, and process automation, along with strong experience in implementing and supporting enterprise-scale tax solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and maintain the OneSource platform to support corporate tax compliance and reporting.
  • Collaborate with tax, IT, and finance teams to gather business requirements and implement effective solutions.
  • Develop and maintain data mappings, import/export routines, and automation scripts.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues to ensure data accuracy and system reliability.
  • Support upgrades, patches, and new feature implementations.
  • Document all configuration changes, workflows, and system architecture.
  • Provide training and technical support to end-users and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and data governance standards.
  • Configure selling entities within the OneSource system.
  • Integrate OneSource with ERP systems like SAP, AS00, and other platforms.
  • Configure currency services for capturing and managing exchange rates.
  • Establish connections between OneSource and new billing systems to ensure seamless data flow.
  • Provide technical leadership and support across tax implementations for large enterprises.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in implementing and supporting tax solutions across enterprises.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with OneSource or similar tax technology platforms.
  • Strong understanding of tax compliance processes, tax data flows, and reporting requirements.
  • Proficient in SQL, Excel, and data transformation tools.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and various integration methods.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with OneSource Direct Tax or Indirect Tax modules.
  • Knowledge of global tax regulations and compliance reporting.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Alteryx, Power Automate, or similar.

Background in project management or business analysis roles.
