Job Details

 

We are seeking a skilled and motivated AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing team. This individual will play a critical role in migrating, maintaining and enhancing middleware stack on cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized environments supporting vital government clients. Your expertise will directly impact the reliability and security of mission-critical systems. This is 100% remote position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the migration of middleware components and applications from on-premises infrastructure to AWS cloud (EC2/Linux-based environments).
  • Manage and maintain COTS middleware products, including IBM WebSphere Application Server, IBM HTTP Server (IHS), TeamSite, and other enterprise web and application servers.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and automation for provisioning, configuration management, and deployment using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar) for automated build, test, and deployment of middleware and application artifacts.
  • Provide operational support, monitoring, and troubleshooting of middleware environments to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Perform upgrades, patches, and configuration management to meet compliance and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to support release management, incident resolution, and problem analysis.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, runbooks, and best practices for middleware operations in hybrid cloud environments.
  • Ensure middleware environments align with enterprise architecture standards, SLAs, and industry best practices.

Required Experience/Clearance

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on AWS cloud experience: Comfortable configuring services through CLI or IaC
  • Familiarity with tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • 5+ years of experience administering IBM WebSphere Application Server (Network Deployment).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices including experience writing custom Jenkins pipelines
  • Linux Expertise: Strong command-line experience with Red Hat Linux and shell scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift). Ability to configure clusters and deploy/manage containers.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, load balancing, firewalls, and SSL/TLS.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring/logging tools (Splunk, ELK, AppDynamics, or similar).
