Vaco is seeking a seasoned leader for a Sr. Manager of Point of Sale (POS) and Menu Data Systems for a direct-hire, fully remote employment opportunity for a client based in the Quick Service Restaurant Industry (QSR). If you’ve driven large-scale POS innovation and data integrations between vendor and internal enterprise data systems in the QSR space and thrive at the intersection of strategy, tech, and customer experience — we want to hear from you! You will lead the efforts to ensure POS data is accurate, accessible, and high-performing to support smooth business operations, robust analytics, and data-driven decisions; while also serving as a key contributor in executing the brand’s menu strategy, supporting new restaurant expansion, and enabling quick rollout of menu tests that foster innovation and drive overall business performance.

Job Scope:
- Leadership & Team Development: Provide direction and mentorship to a team responsible for POS data administration, ensuring alignment with business goals and fostering professional growth.
- Documentation & Data Management: Oversee the organization and maintenance of system documentation, covering menu structures, ingredients, pricing, and operational workflows.
- POS System Configuration & Expansion Support: Oversee the setup and integration of POS data for new store openings, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all locations. Partner with internal teams to execute product rollouts, promotions, and pricing updates in alignment with system capabilities for both company-owned and franchised units.
- Innovation & Menu Testing: Facilitate the swift deployment of limited-time offerings and menu tests, working hand-in-hand with operations and marketing to accelerate innovation.
- Data Accuracy & QA Standards: Implement robust data validation processes, including automated testing, to ensure consistent menu configuration, pricing, and recipe accuracy. Maintain high standards for system reliability through pre-launch quality control protocols.
- Cross-Departmental Alignment: Collaborate with teams across operations, digital, finance, marketing, catering, and IT to enhance POS functionality and support business strategies. Work closely with external vendors and internal stakeholders to drive improvements in automation, data quality, and system performance.
- Vendor & Platform Oversight: Manage relationships with technology partners to ensure timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and system enhancements that meet evolving business needs. Coordinate ongoing platform updates and supports long-term technology planning.
- System Maintenance & Technical Operations: Lead efforts in troubleshooting, system upgrades, and day-to-day technical support, ensuring SLA adherence and operational uptime. Guide internal and third-party developers through feature testing and refinement to boost system efficiency and usability.
- Process Improvement & Optimization: Manage POS project intake and execution workflows, identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and apply best practices from industry innovations.
- Operational & Strategic Contributions: Take on special initiatives and responsibilities that support both day-to-day business needs and long-term strategic objectives.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 6-8 years of hands-on experience managing enterprise Point of Sale (POS) systems (Qu, Aloha, Toast, Clover, etc.) and Menu Data Systems (menu, recipe, and pricing implementations), preferably within Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) environments.
- 5+ years of experience working within the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) sector with a strong grasp of the technology landscape in quick-service dining.
- 3+ years of leadership experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing team members.
- Prior experience working with geographically distributed teams across various time zones.
- Prior experience working with and collaborating with vendors and third-party service providers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with cloud-native POS platforms and SaaS delivery models.
- Experience with Agile practices and iterative product development.
- Demonstrated strength in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex stakeholder landscapes.
- Exceptional communication skills—both verbal and written.
- Data-driven decision-maker with a knack for turning insights into actionable priorities, with the ability to anticipate business needs and present new ideas.
