Location : Hybrid Onsite Dallas, TX, Jersey City, NJ and Tampa, FL

Duration: Long term

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain IBM MQ (v8.x/v9.x) in distributed and clustered environments.
  • Manage MQ objects (queues, channels, listeners, topics, etc.) across development, QA, and production environments.
  • Configure and troubleshoot MQ Queue Managers, client connections, and SSL/TLS for secure messaging.
  • Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions (multi-instance QMs, HA clusters).
  • Monitor system health, logs, and performance using tools like MQ Explorer, IBM Monitoring, or third-party tools.
  • Work with developers to support messaging integration and resolve related issues.
  • Perform upgrades, patching, and capacity planning for messaging infrastructure.
  • Maintain documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, and governance policies related to message flows and user access.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation for production support.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3 8+ years of experience administering IBM MQ (WebSphere MQ).
  • Strong understanding of message-oriented middleware concepts.
  • Proficiency in MQ clustering, pub/sub configuration, and security (SSL certificates, OAM).
  • Experience with scripting (Shell, PowerShell, or Python) for automation.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
  • Hands-on experience with MQ monitoring tools (e.g., IBM Omegamon, BMC, SolarWinds).
  • Knowledge of integration with IBM IIB / ACE, WebSphere, or other middleware is a plus.
  • Understanding of DevOps tools and CI/CD practices is advantageous.
