Application Security Engineer/App Sec

As the premier power futures exchange in North America, this company specializes in derivatives trading, offering participants effective management of price, credit, and liquidity risks. All transactions, including those involving power, environmental, and natural gas, are cleared through its wholly owned subsidiary, utilizing its acclaimed portfolio margining methodology.

The candidate will need to come into their Tysons, VA office 3 days a week.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Guarantees the safety of the organization's systems and valuable information assets.
  • Safeguards against unauthorized access, alterations, or harm and formulates security protocols and benchmarks.
  • Executes policies and protocols and monitors adherence across the organization.
  • Supervising 6-7 of the development teams.
  • Strategizes and devises security strategies and functionalities to empower the organization in recognizing, shielding, detecting, responding to, and recuperating from cyber risks and weaknesses.
  • Conducts risk evaluations, threat assessments, modeling, testing, and evaluations of current systems.
  • Devises security integration blueprints to fortify present infrastructure and assimilate forthcoming solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
For Junior Position
  • At least 1 year of experience in a technical position.
  • At least 1 year in a Cyber or Information Security position.
  • At least 2 years of cumulative work experience in technical or Cyber/Information security roles.
  • Demonstrated commitment to completing projects.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
For Senior Position
  • At least 3 years of experience in a technical position.
  • At least 3 years in a Cyber or Information Security position.
  • A minimum of 5 years of cumulative work experience in technical or Cyber/Information security roles.
