Job Details

Location/Remote: Onsite in Englewood, CO 80112 (i.e., 5 days onsite/week)

Employment Type: 6-month W-2/1099 contract (eligible to extend for multiple years)

Compensation: Up to $68/hour W-2 or $76/hour 1099

Job Summary:

The Senior Wi-Fi Test Engineer will be responsible for the testing and validation of new roadmapped Wi-Fi platforms, focusing on Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) such as Wi-Fi 7 routers and extenders. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in test strategy, automation, and debugging of wireless technologies. This role involves performing hands-on lab testing, analyzing results, and collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver high-quality products.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the testing and validation of new Wi-Fi 7 platforms (CPE, extenders, etc.) in a lab environment.
  • Conduct comprehensive feature and protocol testing, including Wi-Fi 7 (802.11ax) and other wireless standards.
  • Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot complex issues in lab and production environments.
  • Engage with vendors and internal development teams to drive remediation of identified bugs and issues.
  • Develop test cases and automation scripts to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Analyze test results against product requirements to ensure performance, security, and reliability standards are met.
  • Collaborate with customer-facing teams and other stakeholders to understand requirements and report on product performance.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance or Network Test Engineer.
  • Strong experience with Wi-Fi technologies, including Wi-Fi 7 (802.11ax) and earlier standards.
  • Expertise in test strategy, manual and automated testing, and product validation.
  • Experience with network optimization techniques such as Self-Optimizing Networks (SON).
  • Strong debugging skills and proficiency with network analysis tools like Wireshark.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, managing and resolving customer-reported issues.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency with test automation tools like CD Router and scripting languages such as Python.
  • Familiarity with optical fiber technologies (GPON/XGPON) or DSL modem testing is a plus.
  • Experience with network security features and testing using tools like Nmap or Nessus.
