Title: Database Administrator
Location: Charlotte, NC; Altanta, GA; Toronto, Ontario (REMOTE)
Duration: 6-month contract with potential extensions
Compensation: $50.00 - $58.92/hour

Database Administrator
Administer and maintain SQL Server databases for a next-gen, event-driven Financial Processing platform. Ensure high availability, security, and performance during modernization to containerized services and eventual cloud migration.
Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain SQL Server databases for high-throughput workloads.

Monitor and optimize database performance, backups, and recovery processes.

Implement and enforce database security policies and access controls.

Support refactoring of 106+ stored procedures for compatibility with modernized services.

Assist in preparing databases for migration to Aurora PostgreSQL.

Collaborate with Data Engineers and Backend Developers on schema changes and access patterns.

Ensure transactional integrity and high availability during system transitions.
Requirements:
-
5+ years as a Database Administrator with SQL Server.

Expertise in database backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies.

Strong knowledge of SQL Server security, indexing, and performance tuning.

Experience with EF Core, Dapper, or similar ORMs.

Familiarity with Postgres or Aurora PostgreSQL is a plus.

Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment leveraging Agile principles.
