Responsibilities: Support and administration of Software and Services database infrastructure. Gain a thorough understanding of Landis+Gyr software applications with respect to back-end database platforms to enable detailed troubleshooting of application performance issues, recommendations for application performance enhancements, or provide/enact configuration modifications to enhance customer environment performance. Possess a detailed understanding of customer business requirements to provide solutions for Landis+Gyr applications to meet those requirements. Design and develop solutions to complex technology application problems and system administration issues. Monitor system performance, logs, and alerts to proactively address performance, capacity constraints, or environment concerns. Perform installation, maintenance, and tuning of IT infrastructure devices and software as well as systems management and integration functions. Perform periodic hardware and software system maintenance and manage and support new technologies. Apply knowledge of public Cloud platforms and project management methodologies to deliver customer environment solutions. Overseeing daily administration tasks to ensure maximum system performance and availability. Perform SQL scripting and troubleshooting, and oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of databases to meet organizational needs. Implement and manage database backup and recovery procedures to prevent data loss and manage data security and access, ensuring that sensitive information is protected. Create and modify data structures to
ensure efficient data storage and retrieval and ensure the accuracy and integrity of data through regular audits and checks. Conduct performance tests and evaluate metrics to optimize database and system performance. Monitor and manage tickets for system performance issues, and function as the team escalation point for data and database related challenges. Update software and services leadership on technical software and hardware issues, needed changes, and performance of infrastructure components supporting software and services operations. Create written documents that effectively represent delivered customer solutions. Use these documents to provide recommendations for enhancements, provide a basis for problem analysis, and communicate the status of customer environment solutions.
Requirements: Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field plus five (5) years of experience in database architecture and administration. Experience must include five (5) years each of the following: SQL level troubleshooting for Oracle, MSSQL and Postgres databases; supervising/managing team; No-SQL database platforms such as BigQuery and Mongo; SQL scripting; BCP / DR solutions for database platforms; implementing and managing database backup and recovery procedures; overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of database solutions; managing data security and access; creating and modifying data structures to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval; data audits and checks; conducting performance tests and evaluating metrics to optimize database performance. Experience may be gained concurrently.
