Job Details

Position: AWS Architect
Contract: W2 Only

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution architects, developers, and DevOps teams to define cloud architecture and deployment strategies.

  • Evaluate business requirements and translate them into technical cloud solutions and architecture diagrams.

  • Define and implement cloud infrastructure best practices, including networking, security, monitoring, and cost optimization.

  • Lead cloud migration initiatives from on-premises or other platforms to AWS.

  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK.

  • Ensure adherence to security and compliance standards through proper identity, access management, and encryption mechanisms.

  • Troubleshoot and optimize cloud performance, scalability, and reliability.

  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate deployments and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Stay current with new AWS services, emerging cloud technologies, and best practices.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of IT experience with at least 4+ years in AWS architecture and solution design.

  • Strong expertise with AWS core services: EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, CloudFront, CloudWatch, and Route 53.

  • Proven experience in designing and deploying secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant architectures.

  • Hands-on experience with IaC tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK).

  • Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts including VPN, Direct Connect, security groups, and load balancers.

  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).

  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS).

  • Solid understanding of monitoring, logging, and observability using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and third-party tools.

  • Knowledge of cost optimization strategies and Well-Architected Framework principles.

  • AWS Certification — AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional level preferred.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud architectures.

  • Familiarity with serverless architectures using AWS Lambda and Step Functions.

  • Exposure to event-driven architecture and streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis).

  • Knowledge of database migration strategies and tools (DMS, Snowball, Glue).

  • Experience with security and compliance frameworks (SOC2, HIPAA, GDPR).

  • Familiarity with modern DevSecOps practices and automation.

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities across technical and business teams.

  • Ability to work independently and lead cloud initiatives end to end.

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to mentor junior engineers.
