Senior Data Engineer

Duration: 6 Months Contract (with possibility to extend/convert into FTE)

Summary:

• The ideal candidate possesses a strong expertise in SQL and Azure Databricks, with 5-7 years of experience in software solution development using agile and DevOps methodologies, excel in designing and implementing large-scale applications and data engineering solutions. Background includes extensive data analytics using SQL, cloud development, and data lake management, particularly with Microsoft Azure technologies such as EventHub, Data Factory, Databricks, and Power BI. Bring a versatile skill set covering scripting (Python, Spark, Unix), diverse data platforms, cloud tools, CI/CD pipelines, BI analytics, data warehousing, and data governance, ensuring robust development, administration, and support capabilities.

Job Requirement:

• Must have Solid understanding of SQL and Azure Databricks.
• 5-7 years software solution development using agile, DevOps, operating in a product model that includes designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications or data engineering solutions
• 5-7 years data analytics experience using SQL
• 5-7 years of cloud development and data lake experience (prefer Microsoft Azure) including Azure EventHub, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Apps and Power BI.
• Combination of Development, Administration & Support experience in several of the following tools/platforms required:
  o Scripting: Python, Spark, Unix, SQL
  o Data Platforms: Teradata, Cassandra, MongoDB, Oracle, SQL Server, ADLS, Snowflake, Azure Data Explorer. Administration skills a plus
  o Azure Cloud Technologies: Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Power Apps and Azure Functions
  o CI/CD: GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Terraform
  o BI Analytics Tool Stack - Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Denodo, and Grafana
  o Clear understanding on Data Warehousing concept

Knowledge/Skills required:

• SQL and Azure Databricks

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
