Summary

This position is located at Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

This position is eligible for 1.49% COLA (subject to change without notice).

Incentives may be paid up to 25% of annual salary.

Duties

Help

  • Participates in the planning and delivery of a full range of Information Technology customer support services to the organization, including system hardware/software installations, configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Prepares and updates manuals, instructions, and operating procedures, ensuring optimal functionality and operability of systems.
  • Utilizes business process improvement methods to enhance the integration of IT solutions within critical business processes.
  • Conducts both formal and informal training for customers to enhance their skills and understanding.
  • Manages, assesses, configures and protects apps and devices in a cloud-native environment while supporting modern device security and simplifying app and device management across various devices.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, to include a physical assessment, Tier III investigation, Special Agreement Checks and a credit check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must possess or obtain (within 6 months of employment) and maintain most applicable Computing Environment (CE) certificates of training.
  • Must possess or obtain (within 6 months of employment) and maintain a minimum Information Assurance baseline security certification of Security+ equivalent (or higher certification).
  • In accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, must complete the following training: Information Assurance Technical, Level II technicians, and DoDM 8140.03, Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program within six (6) months of hire.

Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

Specialized IT experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training or IT certification which demonstrates skill in applying:

  • Principles and methods for integrating information systems components.
  • Performance tuning tools and techniques.
  • System diagnostic tool and fault identification techniques.
  • Systems administration methods.
  • Participating in the planning and delivery of a full range of IT customer support services.
  • Installing, configuring, upgrading and trouble shooting hardware and software components.
  • Presenting formal and informal training and assistance to customers.
  • Reporting, responding to, and resolving customer requests; and IT security principles.

~OR~

Completion of a master's degree or two (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree in completer science, engineering, information systems management or technology management, or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours as indicated above and required the development or adaption of application, systems, or networks.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates must demonstrate IT-related experience which addresses the following four competencies:

1. Attention to detail - Such as implementing quality control procedures and conducting compliance reviews.

2. Customer service - Such as providing assistance to both internal and external customers; assessing customers' needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.

3. Verbal communication - Such as conducting formal presentations or training to audiences at varying levels of hierarchy and technical expertise.

4. Demonstrated problem-solving skills - Such as identifying the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Candidates who possess the following knowledge/experience will be considered Best Qualified and referred first. All other minimally qualified applicants will be referred upon management's request

Resume must demonstrate and reflect:

  • Experience and knowledge of creating and managing Army Portfolio Management System (APMS) records or similar.
  • Experience and knowledge of creating and managing Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) records or similar.
  • Experience and knowledge of submitting and tracking Information Technology Acquisition Systems (ITAS) requests or similar.
  • Possess CompTIA Security+ Certification

Education

Incentives and Bonuses

  • Incentives may be paid but are not guaranteed.
  • Up to 25% Recruitment incentive may be paid (service agreement required). Recruitment incentives are applicable to newly hired individuals and rehired individuals (i.e., one being reinstated or re-employed after a break in service of at least 1 year).
  • Up to 25% Relocation incentive may be paid (service agreement required). Relocation incentives are applicable to current NAF employees who have accepted a Regular Full-Time (RFT) in a different geographical location with no break in service.

Allowances and Differentials

  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials may be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
