Job Details

Exciting opportunity for a Software Engineering Leader role at a fast-growing AI start-up based just south of Silicon Valley. This is a contract-to-hire position with strong potential to evolve into a leadership role as the company scales.

About the Role:

This is a hands-on software engineering position where you'll work closely with a small, talented R&D team to refine and professionalize a mature codebase. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, diving deep into code, and driving product quality and release processes.

Key Highlights:

  • Collaborate with engineers to clean up and optimize existing code (currently ~70 80% complete).
  • Own product quality, testing, release schedules, and integration with downstream systems.
  • Help structure and professionalize the codebase and development processes.

Ideal Background:

  • 10 25 years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong coding and debugging skills; experience with QA, testing, and legacy code clean-up.
  • Passion for building scalable, reliable software in a start-up setting.
  • BS in Computer Science or higher (MS or PhD preferred).
  • Previous experience in start-ups or new divisions within larger companies is a plus.
