Prerequisites:

  • Have strong understanding of data management concepts
  • Have good understanding of data modelling concepts
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Strong customer facing and communication skills
  • Good presentation skills

Responsibilities:

Data Analysis & Communication

  • In-Depth SQL Analysis: Utilize SQL for in-depth data analysis to explore datasets, understand intricate relationships between data elements, identify trends, and validate data integrity.
  • Stakeholder Reporting: Generate clear data analysis summaries that articulate findings, data quality issues, and their potential impact.
  • Presentation & Visualization: Present data analysis findings to stakeholders using tools such as PowerPoint presentations and, if required, interactive dashboards in Tableau to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Data Quality & Understanding
  • Data Profiling & Assessment: Conduct comprehensive data profiling to understand structure, content, and quality. Perform thorough data quality assessments to identify issues like missing values, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies.
  • Root Cause & Anomaly Detection: Demonstrate a high degree of curiosity about data, actively seeking out anomalies, outliers, and unexpected patterns that may indicate underlying data quality problems.
  • Issue Management: Proactively identify and communicate data quality issues to relevant stakeholders, explaining the impact and potential solutions, and log issues for tracking and resolution.
  • Fit-for-Purpose Analysis
  • Upstream/Downstream Analysis: Analyze upstream data sources and downstream data consumption patterns to gain a holistic understanding of data lineage and its impact across the organization.
  • Fitness for Use Assessment: Assess data fitness for downstream consumption by evaluating whether data quality and structure meet the requirements of various applications, reports, and analytical processes.
  • Data Flow Documentation: Develop and maintain data flow diagrams as needed to visually represent data movement, transformations, and relationships between systems, ensuring clear documentation
