SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and cleared Database Administrator in Pensacola, FL to join our technology team. You will be the cornerstone of our data infrastructure, responsible for the day-to-day operational health and performance of our complex database systems in a secure and mission-focused environment. You will work within a collaborative team to ensure our data is secure, reliable, and highly available, directly contributing to the success of critical projects.
Responsibilities:
- Perform high-level, day-to-day maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex database management systems across various operating systems.
- Monitor, tune, and optimize multiple database systems to achieve peak performance levels.
- Implement, manage, and audit robust solutions to ensure database data integrity and compliance with security standards.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive schedule for database backups, archives, and recovery operations.
- Work closely with systems administrators, database engineers, and software developers to plan and modernize database implementations.
- Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
- Follow established procedures and policies, while exercising judgment to determine the appropriate course of action.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI Clearance with the ability to acquire a CI Polygraph upon hire.
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- Current CompTIA Security+ certification.
- 2+ years of professional experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator.
- Proven expertise in database maintenance, security, and performance tuning.
- Demonstrated experience with database design, development, and data modeling.
- Strong ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries and reports.
- Familiarity with database testing methodologies and tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Active Directory and VMware.
- Experience with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL) within a secure environment.
- Knowledge of other database systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell).
