Description

Senior Business Analyst

Location: Washington, D.C. Area (On-Site)

Travel: Minimal (up to 10%)

Duration: 6-month Contract (potential extension)

Clearance: Active or Ability to Obtain a Public Trust Clearance

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to provide support for enterprise-level platforms and governance initiatives. This is an on-site role in the Washington, D.C. area and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to strategic and mission-aligned projects. The ideal candidate will be integral in aligning stakeholders, refining requirements, and supporting full project lifecycle implementation and delivery.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning, Intake, and Governance
  • Assist in creating and enforcing the strategic roadmap and vision for enterprise platform alignment.
  • Ensure collaboration across business and platform teams, adhering to governance models and achieving measurable business outcomes.
  • Participate in governance boards and steering committees, while contributing to governance planning and enforcement.

Business Analysis
  • Act as the primary liaison for customer engagement, project support, and resolving escalations.
  • Define and document objectives, scope, and timelines for projects to meet established milestones within approved budgets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as Project Managers, Release Managers, and Security Teams, to plan and deliver solutions effectively.
  • Contribute to platform adoption by supporting workshops, project planning, and strategic roadmap development.
  • Engage in estimation activities to determine time and cost requirements with cross-functional teams.

Requirements and Stakeholder Management
  • Capture and lead definition of business/user requirements, use cases, and functional stories, especially in Agile environments.
  • Ensure alignment between stakeholders' expectations and implemented solutions through validation and testing activities.
  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships to prioritize and model business processes and data requirements.

Communication, Adoption, and Support
  • Lead platform release teams by delivering training, testing processes, and go-live/post-implementation support.
  • Collaboratively refine release timelines with Release Managers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Drive user adoption by facilitating both group and one-on-one training sessions, while addressing change management goals.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and communication deliverables to enhance platform understanding.
  • Actively coordinate internal deployment updates for system and solution implementations.


Requirements

What We're Looking For

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in business analysis, strategic planning, or governance.
  • Experience operating within federal or highly regulated environments successfully.
  • Proven expertise in requirement gathering and full-lifecycle project support for enterprise platforms.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, backlog management, and stakeholder coordination.

Tools and Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in tools like Jira, ServiceNow, Confluence, SharePoint, and/or equivalent systems for documentation and collaboration.
  • Competence with standard project tools, such as Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, and process modeling tools.
  • Experience working with enterprise environments (e.g., case management, workflow automation, ITSM tools) is an asset.

Additional Qualifications
  • Public Trust clearance.
  • Position requires commuting to the on-site location in Washington, D.C. (no remote option available).
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
