Position : Program Manager

Description/Comment:
The Principal Portfolio Manager Project and Department Financials will support, manage, and track the department financials for Workforce Technology organization and project financials for various active programs, projects and workstreams across a technology portfolio of platforms and services. Will provide technology portfolio financials oversight support responsible for the coordination, rollup, management, and reporting of all technology program and project financials across the Workforce Technology (WFT) platforms and services. In addition, this role will help to create and standardize project management financials processes and tools for the workforce technology organization.
In this role will:
Be accountable for budget/planning, actuals, & forecast processes for both capital and operational expenses for programs/projects as well as department financials and provide timely and actionable executive level reporting
Be accountable for leading the 5 year planning and Annual Operating Expense and Capital planning exercise
Support portfolios, programs and projects with high complexity and large budgets (<$50M)
Analyze, measure and recognize the financial impact of various project actions, participate in analyzing and using financial data to identify key project issues, and maintain budget tracking and monitors budget expenditures
Manage complex project financials with frequent interactions/engagement with technology executives, delivery leaders, finance and project managers throughout the technology project life cycle
Maintain budget tracking tools, tracks invoices, and billings, manages fee structures, and forecasts potential gains and losses
Leverage advanced excel and SAP skills to create project financial tools for project managers to effectively manage project budgets, and forecasts
Lead the tracking of detailed financials based on the project plan, commitments, and contracts/SOWs (day-to-day financial management of project spend)
Interact with the project and budget owners in all aspects of budgets, forecasts, detailed tracking, and analysis variances.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a Project Financial Controller (Financial Analyst) (Principal/Lead level Project Financial Controller) experience in technology managing costs for programs and project controls (e.g. cost, schedule, performance), financial reporting, analysis, and planning during the project lifecycle
Proven experience implementing project management/financial process improvements and tools to effectively manage project costs
Must have proven experience managing multiple project financials, priorities, and tasks across multiple projects and teams while adhering to deadlines and maintaining high quality
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel -ability to perform vlookups, pivot tables, and other Excel formulas to design models and reports:
o Specific: VLookup, Pivot Table, Modelling/Report Building, Sum IFs, IF formulas, HLookUp, Handling large data sets, etc.
Keen attention to detail
Knowledge of project accounting and GAAP principles with extensive understanding of establishing, documenting, reporting, and tracking project financials across multiple technology teams including:
Establishing, maintaining, and tracking project budgets, and overall cost control
o Establishing resource plans and translating resource plans into financial forecasts
o Preparing detailed monthly project forecasts, managing project forecast processes, and conducting project review meetings
o Presenting financials to leadership
Must have moderate to advanced SAP experience, pulling reports, exporting data, and performing data analysis
o Relevant T Codes: CJI3, CN43N, ME23N, KSB1, or any experience pulling cost data.
o Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and time management skills; with the ability to effectively communicate with executive leadership
o Strong partnering, influencing, and interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, active listening, and communication; high attention to detail; demonstrated ability to influence partners and key business decisions
o Experience with accruals, purchase orders, statements of works, etc.
o Strong knowledge of capital and expense funding types
o Demonstrate an understanding of the overall project execution process, including budgeting, project forecasting, cost control, schedule, anticipated cost, etc.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office
o Act as an agent of change and partner with clients to understand pain points and champion process improvements
o Demonstrate strong analytical and problem
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working for a large company and within a matrix organization
Experience supporting technology organizations using agile practices
Experience with Smartsheets
PMI or Scrum Alliance (or similar) certifications in Program Manager, Project Manager, or Scrum Master competencies are preferred
