System One is assisting our client in hiring a Project Engineer-Rotating Equipment to work in a North Houston manufacturing facility (77032).

Job Title: Project Engineer
Reports to: Project Manager

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of mechanical design and the compressed air industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication, organizational, and design skills
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Familiar with ERP/job costing systems (e.g., BPCS, SAP)
  • Flexible, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced setting

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with rotating equipment (compressors, pumps, generators)
  • Project management experience

Essential Job Functions
  • Evaluate the contract description upon receipt of an order/project in collaboration with the Design Department, Purchasing Team, Document Controller, and Proposal Engineer to accurately assess contract feasibility.
  • Conduct technical, commercial, and planning meetings with end customers and contractors, including Kickoff Meetings, Pre-Inspection Meetings, and Factory Acceptance Tests.
  • Facilitate technical alignment with the design teams.
  • Accurately process orders in the relevant systems.
  • Monitor and log any changes to the contract scope, delivery schedule, documentation, and financials.
  • Maintain full visibility into the status of all ongoing projects.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all project-related documents (e.g., drawings, datasheets, manuals, certificates) to Customer Centers and/or end customers.
  • Validate all documents prior to submission to the (end) customer.
  • Prepare documentation such as the Supplier Document Index (SDI), Inspection Test Plans (ITP), production schedules, Monthly Progress Reports, datasheets, and procedures.
  • Ensure product safety and quality by completing the required Risk Analyses.
  • Track and report actual project expenditures against the predetermined budget after delivery.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and consultation to Customer Centers to determine the most efficient project execution strategy.
  • Deliver training to Contract Engineers, Proposal Engineers, and Sales Companies as required.
  • Organize and manage Witness Tests, as well as visits from Customer Centers, inspectors, and end customers.
  • Oversee project execution from initiation through to shipment.
  • Coordinate shipping, installation, and commissioning efforts when contractually required.
  • Collaborate with other Engineered Solutions entities to ensure alignment on shared projects.
  • Review and validate the work completed by colleagues.
  • Delegate and coordinate appropriate tasks with GECIA.
  • Prepare and support documentation for locally designed and supported products.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation in line with all project requirements.
  • Provide ongoing technical support for assembly, production, and quality assurance processes.
  • Interface with shop personnel to ensure product compliance with design specifications.
  • Offer technical support to Sales, Marketing, and Service departments for locally designed products.
  • Adhere to OSHA regulations and incorporate Safe Start training techniques to maintain safety awareness and prevent injuries.
  • Follow safety policy, aiming for zero work-related incidents. Promote sustainable practices to support the company's goals in Quality, Environment, Safety, Health, and Energy/Resource Efficiency.
  • Some day and occasional overnight travel may be required in the absence of the immediate supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably with rotating equipment (e.g., compressors, pumps, generators). Project management experience is a plus.
