Role: Senior Google Cloud Platform DevOps Engineer
Location: Dallas, TX
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Google Cloud Platform DevOps Engineer with 10+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps practices, cloud infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD implementation preferably in enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), infrastructure as code (IaC), containerization, and modern DevOps tools and methodologies.
You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure systems while promoting DevOps best practices across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, build, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, etc.
- Manage infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Deployment Manager.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging using tools like Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity for production environments.
- Collaborate with application development, security, and architecture teams to define and implement cloud-native solutions.
- Drive DevOps culture, best practices, and process improvements across the organization.
- Implement and enforce security and compliance standards in cloud deployments.
- Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for production issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead DevOps initiatives or cross-functional projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering roles.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Functions, VPC, IAM, Cloud Storage, etc.).
- Strong experience with containerization and orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes (GKE preferred).
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform (preferred), Deployment Manager, or similar tools.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools: Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, etc.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
- Experience with monitoring/logging: Stackdriver, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
- Solid knowledge of networking concepts, Linux administration, and cloud security best practices.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools (e.g., Prisma Cloud, HashiCorp Vault, etc.).
- Experience in automating deployments of microservices and distributed systems.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Proven track record of driving technical initiatives and mentoring junior engineers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Google Cloud Platform Professional certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect).
- Experience in multi-cloud or hybrid environments.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum and GitOps practices.
- Background in performance tuning, cost optimization, and site reliability engineering (SRE).
